Hair Foundation Partners with the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)
The Hair Foundation, a non-profit organization, in partnership with corporations and medical professionals conducts research and provides current, relevant information about hair to men and women of all ages. The foundation's goal is to be recognized as the only unbiased, independent resource for people searching for information, support and services to meet their hair health needs.
Seattle, WA, August 4, 2009 - Hair Foundation welcomes the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) as one of its newest Allied Organizations Council (AOC) partners. ABHRS will join the experts from the Childhood Leukemia Foundation, International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), International Hair Research Foundation, American Hair Loss Council, and the American Association of Cosmetology Schools to provide the public with unbiased information on all aspects of hair health.
ABHRS is the only comprehensive, international testing body for hair restoration surgery. ABHRS upholds the highest standards of training and certification. While there is currently no American Board of Medical Specialties certification specific to hair restoration, the ABHRS is the only certification recognized by the ISHRS, the largest hair restoration educational organization in the world.
"We are so pleased to have ABHRS join our Allied Organizations Council. They are the only board that tests the latest knowledge on hair restoration surgery and conditions that cause hair loss. Through their stringent examination standards ABHRS, has served the public by creating a certification process for surgeons who have proven they have the knowledge to perform safe, aesthetically sensitive hair replacement surgery. ABHRS brings their best practices in examination and licensing procedures to the Hair Foundation's Allied Organizations Council and serves as an expert resource in educating all our partners on the best treatments, products, identifying hair loss and where to refer patients/clients when appropriate."
- E. Antonio Mangubat, MD, President and Chair of the Hair Foundation
"It is important that the public can safely and easily locate a reputable hair restoration surgeon in their area. ABHRS' program for certification ensures that physicians are trained and show knowledge in the latest techniques and treatments. Our partnership with the Hair Foundation helps to connect our highly-trained physicians with candidates for hair restoration and spread the word about options and truthful outcomes for treatment."
- Daniel W. Didocha, D.O., President ABHRS
