The Hair Foundation combines the power of the Foundation (Hair Industry) with major corporate donors, respected foundations, non-profit partners and caring individuals, such as our physician partners, to help raise awareness and funds for significant hair health concerns as well as public outreach and educational causes.
The Foundation is comprised of three distinct councils which is the platform for the various sectors in the hair industry to work together on mutually identified issues and goals. These councils not only share information, but also act as a system of check and balance in providing sound, scientific information on hair. See Hair Foundation Organization Chart.
The organization is served and informed by these three distinct councils: The Scientific Advisory Council (SAC), whose mission is to examine and explain scientific claims of hair products and treatments for consumers. The, Allied Organizations Council (AOC), is comprised of non-profit organizations that advance public awareness and enhance public perception of the hair industry through collaboration. The, Industry Advisory Council (IAC), whose mission is to encourage and support consumer education and public outreach programs that increase the public's awareness of hair health and to coordinate the financial support from industry for the Foundation's educational, outreach and research projects.
